How to replace a Porsche 911 Engine Motor Mount?

1.Secure Vehicle

Set parking brake and inspect the engine mount. Turn engine ignition to the off position. Remove Plastic Covers. Check for clearance against the firewall before attempting to raise the engine. Tearing radiator hoses, crimping AC lines or cracking distributor caps should be avoided.

2.Spray Lubricant

Secure the engine on a jack with various blocks of wood. Never jack an engine directly into the oil pan. The pan will bend and rupture. Accessing a broken engine mount. Support the engine. Spray lubricant on the engine mount.

3.Remove the Old Engine Motor Mount

Loosen the engine from the mount bolts. Sometimes a long extension and universal joint is the way to go. Remove engine mount and nuts and bolts. Compare old and new engine mounts.

4.Replace the New Engine Motor Mount

Next, crawl under the vehicle and loosen the mount-to-frame bolts. Jack-up the engine a little at a time and remove the motor mount. Ensure new engine mount fitment. Torque mounting nuts and bolts. Compare the old and new motor mounts.

5.Tighten Removal Parts & Check for a Test drive

Transfer any heat or drip shields to the new mount. Thread in the mount-to-frame bolts before lowering the engine. This will simplify mount alignment. Lower the engine and fully tighten all bolts. Lower and remove floor jack. Check for a test drive on your replacing vehicle.
