How to replace a Chevrolet Power Seat Switch?

1.Materials Needed for Repair

  • Protective gloves
  • Repair manuals (optional)
  • Safety glasses
  • Screwdrivers
  • Trim panel tools (optional)

2.Removing the Power Seat Switch

Disconnect the negative battery cable and set it aside. Remove the trim panel retaining screws using a screwdriver. Then pull the seat trim panel away from the seat cushion in order to release the retaining clips. Using a trim panel removal tool is optional.

3.Remove the Screws & Electrical Connector

Using a screwdriver, remove the screws that hold the switch panel to the trim panel. Remove the switch’s electrical connector by pushing down on the tab and sliding it off. Then remove the switch itself.

4.Install the Power Seat Switch

Mount the new seat switch in position. Reinstall the electrical connector. Using the same retaining screws you removed earlier, attach the new switch to the switch panel.

5.Reinstall the Seat Trim Panel & Check for Seat

Mount the seat trim panel in place. Then, insert the screws and tighten them down using a screwdriver. Move the power seat to verify that the power seat switch has been installed correctly. Reconnect the negative battery cable and tighten it down.
