How to replace a Ram 1500 Power Module Fuse Relay?
1.Identify Vehicle
Confirm the type of relay you need to replace in your 2004 Dodge Caravan. Determine the location of the relay associated with your malfunctioning device by referring to the diagram/relay key under the latching cover of the IPM (located to the right of the battery).
2.Remove Relay
Disconnect the battery. Remove the relay. Clean and fix or repair any area of the relay or IPM, as needed.
3.Remove Old Total Integrated Power Module
Push your new replacement relay into the relay socket. Make certain the relay fits snug within the socket, as current running through a loose relay can cause the relay to overheat and the outer relay casing or IPM cover to melt.
4.Replace New Total Integrated Power Module
Snap the IPM cover tightly into place. A loose IPM cover can allow moisture or water into the IPM resulting in damage and high-cost repairs due to electrical system failure.
5.Reconnect Removal Parts & Check For Drive
Reconnect the battery and reset the clock and any radio presets. Verify that the new relay corrected your Dodge Caravan device or system malfunction.
