Fit In Five Steps

How to replace a Dodge Dakota AC Refrigerant Discharge or Suction Hose Assembly?

1.Secure Vehicle

Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example, latex gloves or closed toe shoes.

2.Disconnect Electric Connection

Open the hood and locate the vehicle’s A/C lines or hoses. Disconnect the negative battery cable using an open-ended wrench.

3.Remove Old Dodge Dakota A/C Refrigerant Discharge or Suction Hose Assembly

Recover any refrigerant (discharge A/C system) with an A/C machine. Remove damaged A/C lines or hoses.

4.Install New Dodge Dakota A/C Refrigerant Discharge or Suction Hose Assembly

Install the new o-rings, A/C line, and hose. Reconnect negative battery cable.

5.Reinstall Removal Parts & Check for Leakage

Evacuate all remaining A/C refrigerant using an A/C machine to pull a vacuum on the system. Recharge the A/C system with the A/C refrigerant and have the A/C system leak tested. Each vehicle takes a different amount of A/C refrigerant which is measured in pounds. Turn on the A/C system with the engine running and check to see if cold air is now coming out of the air duct.
